As a dedicated team member, Mike has played an integral role in our success, contributing his skills and expertise to numerous projects. In this Q&A session, we sat down with Mike to reflect on his journey and learn a little more about his life outside of work.

Journey and Role:

Q: What brought you to PST seven years ago?

A: I was excited for the chance to work for a company that was focused on growth and innovation, as well as being able to learn new skills in the software development field.

Q: Can you describe your role and what your main responsibilities are?

A: I liaise with clients to customise and manage their systems to ensure our software meets their specific requirements.

Q: How has the role evolved since you first joined the company?

A: I now also maintain and develop some of our online services.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in software development?

A: I developed an interest in it during university where I studied physics. I really enjoy learning new technologies and particularly enjoy learning about web development. It’s such a vast and quickly evolving field. It’s exciting.

Projects and Achievements:

Q: What are some key projects or milestones you’ve been part of during your time here?

A: Inputting major client’s systems and implementing single sign on for online services.

Q: Are there any recent innovations or new features in the software that you are particularly excited about?

A: It has to be vsHome AR. It’s such a cool and immersive experience to use.

Skills and Development:

A: I have been able to really develop my programming skills and learn about lots of new and exciting technologies.

Hobbies and Interests:

A: I love hiking in the Peak District, playing guitar, playing golf and sampling some of the great pubs that Sheffield has to offer.

Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?

A: If I could visit any country in the world, I would choose Japan. Its unique blend of traditional and modern culture is fascinating, and the food is incredible.

Q: What’s your favourite type of food or cuisine?

A: If I had to choose only one cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, it would probably be Italian due to its versatility.

Thank you Mike, for your contributions and hard work. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for you and PST!
